Valerie Lowe was a burned out social worker who moved to the upstate from Florida for a change of occupation and scenery. Arriving in Anderson to stay with friends, she began working in the restaurant industry and has been there ever since. Her passion is gardening, and she along with Katie grow and harvest the better part of the produce served at Friends.

Katie Tillman came to Anderson to do downtown revitalization for the city, and has been working in the downtown area for the last 20 years. She is also a nurse and works part time at Hospice of the upstate. Her passion is metalwork. Sometimes you might even see an original piece of art incorporated into a buffet serving piece or something.

Both of these gals have a love for Anderson and its people. They have become an integral part of the community, and currently serve on several boards and commissions with the mission of serving the community that has so generously given to them. They are committed to Anderson and its long term success.
